Chinese Herbal Medicine

When it comes to women’s health, Chinese herbal medicine is a traditional form of medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years in China. Clients come to me for Chinese herbs for things like:

  • Painful, irregular, or heavy periods and to help with the management of conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, or PCOS.

  • Fertility support, i.e., to improve egg/sperm quality, help with thickness of uterine lining, to prepare for IVF, to lengthen their luteal phase, etc.

  • Pre and post-birth to help with insomnia, fatigue, pain, anxiety, etc.

  • During the (peri)menopause to help with brain fog, tiredness, hot flushes, joint pains, etc.

In the UK, Chinese herbal medicine primarily utilises plant-based substances, including roots, bark, leaves, flowers, and other parts of plants. These substances are carefully selected based on their traditional uses and therapeutic properties.

Different herbs are combined into formulas tailored to your specific needs, and they cannot be be bought in a shop but only ordered by a fully qualified practitioner.

Chinese herbs can come in different formats such as raw herbs, granules, pills, tablets, and as external applications.

Most of my clients take their herbs in the form of granular powders, which you prepare just like an instant drink. This is a convenient and easy way to take the herbs and, therefore, easy to incorporate into your daily routine.

Clients are often advised to take the herbs twice a day, and specific dosages and administration details are provided to ensure the safe and effective use of the herbs.
